JOB OVERVIEW
Bosworth Independent School is seeking to appoint an efficient, organised and motivated Assistant Exams Officer to support the smooth administration and delivery of internal and external examinations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-focused administrator who is keen to develop expertise in examinations management within a busy and supportive school environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Exams Officer and wider academic and pastoral teams, contributing to all aspects of the examinations cycle while developing the knowledge and confidence to take on increased responsibility over time.

This vacancy offers a sessional contract and therefore does not gurantee fixed hours.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Examinations Administration and Support
  • Upload speaking test recordings and other required materials to examination board portals.
  • Support the management of post-results services, including access to scripts and enquiries about results.
  • Distribute and track examination certificates.
  • Prepare and send statements of entry and examination timetables to external candidates.
  • Respond to routine enquiries from external candidates and parents regarding examination availability and fees.
  • Develop familiarity with JCQ regulations and support their implementation.
  • Use school systems (including iSAMS) to generate examination candidate cards and support preparation for exam days.
  • Assist with results days administration, including scanning and distributing statements of results.
  • Support administrative processes related to UFP examinations (training will be provided).
  • Assist with examination day operations, including room set-up, candidate registration and secure packing of scripts.
  • Produce fee information for internal candidates for submission to the Finance team.
  • Help prepare examination venues at the start of each examination series, ensuring appropriate signage, equipment and resources are in place.

Developing Responsibilities

  • Support the collection and organisation of evidence for access arrangements, particularly for candidates transferring from other schools.
  • Assist with visits and tours for prospective external candidates.
  • Support the administration of internal candidate examination entries.
  • Take increasing responsibility for the organisation and delivery of specific examination series, including Year 12 end-of-year examinations and the November examination session at Bosworth Hall, working with lead invigilators and teaching staff.
  • Build confidence in responding to routine examination board queries and requests.
  • Contribute to the organisation of mock examinations, as required.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the Exams Officer as needed.

  • Resilient and able to manage periods of high workload and pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teaching and support staff, external candidates, parents and invigilators.
  • A calm, patient and professional manner, with the energy and flexibility to respond to changing demands.

Desirable

  • Previous administrative experience in an educational or examinations environment.
  • Experience using school management systems such as iSAMS.
  • Awareness of JCQ regulations and examination board processes.
