ABOUT CATS COLLEGE CAMBRIDGE
CATS College offers an outstanding international pre-university educational experience to students aged 14+ from all over the world. Students live and work at the custom built Cambridge campus, studying for GCSEs, A levels and University Foundation Programmes, and preparing for admission to universities across the country and elsewhere. JOB OVERVIEW
Sessional Teacher of French
You will be an excellent practitioner, teaching groups of students French, supporting their learning to allow them to achieve the best possible outcomes.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students
- Promote excellent progress and outcomes by students
- Demonstrate excellent subject and curriculum knowledge
- Plan and teach well-structured lessons based on departmental schemes of work
- Participate in arrangements for preparing students for external examinations
- Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all students
- Make accurate and productive use of assessment, including the setting and marking of work according to the school’s policy
- Write high quality reports as required by the school’s policy on reporting to parents
- Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment
- Develop and maintain classroom and other learning environments
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one where appropriate.
- Successful experience of teaching French at secondary, sixth form or equivalent level.
- Strong subject knowledge
- The ability to plan and deliver well-structured, engaging and challenging lessons.
- A strong understanding of assessment, feedback and examination preparation.
- High expectations of students’ academic progress, behaviour and independent study.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and the welfare of young people.
- A reflective approach to professional development.
