Rugby Coach

The Role
Bournemouth Collegiate School is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Rugby Coach to join our sports department and help develop rugby across the School.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about rugby and enjoys working with young people. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering high-quality coaching, supporting fixtures and helping to foster a positive, inclusive and ambitious rugby culture within the School.
The role is approximately 16 hours per week during term time, making it particularly well suited to a current student, recent graduate, or someone looking to combine coaching with other professional or academic commitments.
We would also be interested in candidates who would like to combine the Rugby Coach position with a boarding role, providing the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities and become more fully involved in School life.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality rugby coaching sessions for pupils across a range of ages and abilities.
- Support the development of individual players and teams, helping pupils to improve their technical, tactical and physical skills.
- Assist with the preparation and coaching of school teams for fixtures and competitions.
- Attend and support rugby fixtures, including occasional afternoon or weekend commitments where required.
- Encourage participation, enjoyment and a positive attitude towards rugby.
- Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline and respect.
- Contribute to the development of a strong and inclusive rugby programme within the School.
- Work collaboratively with members of the Sports Department.
- Maintain appropriate standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times.
- Contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of Bournemouth Collegiate School.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for rugby and enthusiasm for coaching young people.
- Has playing and/or coaching experience in rugby.
- Is able to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with pupils.
- Can motivate and inspire players of differing abilities and levels of experience.
- Is reliable, organised and professional.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and creating a safe environment for pupils.
A formal coaching qualification would be advantageous, but applications from enthusiastic and suitably experienced students or graduates are welcomed. Training and qualifications can be discussed depending on the candidate's experience.
