Job Description

Have you enjoyed working at a summer school before and feel ready to step into a more senior role? Maybe you’ve had experience leading teams of people before and want to try something new and exciting this summer.


What does it involve?


At Stafford House Study Holidays, we welcome over 6,000 young learners (aged 8–17) from around the world each summer. Our mission is to help students improve their English through engaging classroom lessons and a lively program of activities and excursions. We believe that learning extends beyond the classroom, and that’s why we’re committed to creating an unforgettable summer experience.


Our Senior Activity Leaders are organised, natural leaders who are professional and calm under pressure. You will enjoy supporting the Activities Team in delivering our high-quality summer activity and excursions programme. Activities range from sports, drama, and arts, to quizzes, discos, and fashion shows and excursions from bustling city tours to exploring historical landmarks and iconic attractions — you’ll help bring creativity and energy to every event.


For the senior role, you must have experience of working in a summer school setting or similar.


Locations: Choose from Bournemouth, Cambridge, Central London, Uxbridge, Northampton, and Oakham (famous for the Michael Owen Red Stars football school) to choose from.


Contracts:  You can select a contract lasting 4-6 weeks, from 20th June to 10th August (25th August in Central London) dates will depend on your chosen centre. You need to be available for at least 4 weeks in July, as this is our busiest period.  
-    Full-board accommodation can be provided in all locations (excluding central London) for a nominal salary deduction 


Hours: Working 52 hours per week over a 6-day week. This is a fully immersive working experience.

Pay: £634.92 per week + *holiday entitlement

Some of what you'll be doing as a Senior Activity Leader:


  • Encouraging and supporting students to take-part in fun activities or events, while maintaining accurate registers and reporting feedback to Activities Managers

  • Carry out mealtime and free-time supervision; with some ‘lights-out’ duties (if residential)

  • Caring for the health, safety, and wellbeing of our Activity Leaders and students

  • We take safeguarding very seriously. If successful we will conduct full pre-employment checks including an Enhanced DBS check, in line with our safer recruitment policy and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024.
