Job Description

Leading our summer school as Centre Director will provide you with a fun, diverse and unforgettable experience!

Here at Stafford House Study Holidays, we welcome over 6000 students (aged 8-17) from overseas during the summer holidays, to help them improve their English. Students reside in one of seven fantastic schools for a duration of 7-14 days at a time. While with us, they are provided with a varied academic and activities programme and are supported by our team of Student Welfare Officers in each location, who help with all pastoral and well-being needs.

As Centre Director, you’re the glue that binds the whole programme together and makes our students’ stay with us not only educational, but fun, safe, and memorable.

We look for candidates with proven working experience in effective management and leadership, ideally within a summer or year-round school. You’ll oversee the management centre with circa 300+ students and around 30+ staff, depending on centre. Therefore, you must be a great communicator and have experience of working with young people from different cultures. This varied role requires management of budgets, customer, and team satisfaction, as well as being the responsible safeguarding lead on site.

Locations: Bournemouth, Canterbury, Cambridge, Central London, Uxbridge, Northampton, and Oakham (famous for the Michael Owen Red Stars football school).

Contracts:  This is a fully immersive experience, working 60 hours per week over 6 days. It's a residential role, meaning that you can choose to spend summer in a new location if you wish. Of course, we provide you with full-board accommodation. The contract is 4-6 weeks, between late June to mid August, depending on the centre you choose. You must attend our managers training weekend, on 14th June 2024.

What’s in it for you as a Centre Director?

  • Working with an experienced and supportive team

  • Opportunity to expand your management experience with a full management training weekend and ongoing support throughout your contract
