Looking for the next step up?  Our Senior Teacher roles could be just the thing if you’re looking to extend or move into a more senior teaching position. 

Our senior summer school teaching roles are the perfect opportunity to earn over the summer. With small classroom sizes and teaching materials provided, we provide CPD, appraisals and observations, as well as an experienced and supportive academic management team.

What does it involve?


Here at Stafford House Study Holidays, we welcome over 6000 young students (aged 8-17) from all over the world, from late-June to mid-August. During their 7-14 day stay, we provide a vibrant activities and excursions programme, alongside stimulating English language lessons in the classroom. It's a great opportunity to work with a range of ages, levels of ability and students from a multi-cultural environment.

Our senior teachers teach, support the Assistant Director and Director of Studies with academic administration and support, and take part in leading our fun and exciting activities and excursions.

Our class sizes are small: 15 students on average

We support you: We provide your lesson materials to support our fun and varied syllabus as well as an experienced and supportive academic management team. 


*Experienced Teaching staff completing a minimum of 4 weeks work during summer 2024 may be eligible to apply for free DELTA module 1 course, run by Stafford House International, London. *T&Cs apply.


Contracts:  You can choose your contract of 4-6 weeks between July to mid-August. You must be available within at least 2 weeks in July, as this is our busy period. We may be able to support you with food and accommodation if you’d like to try a residential contract. See below for more information.

Locations: Bournemouth, Canterbury, and Central London

Hours: Our senior teacher role offers 42 hours over 6 days per week. The typical week may involve: 15 hours teaching, 25 hours supporting and leading excursions, 2 hours meetings/paperwork etc.


Pay: Residential Contract - £562.16 / Non-residential - £598.13 per week + holiday entitlement


If you'd prefer shorter hours over the summer or just to teach, please see our EFL teaching role, which offers more flexibility (16+ hours per week)


Some of what you need to become part of the Stafford House Teaching Team:


  • CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL or a PGCE in Primary or English Literature or MFL (essential)

  • 3 years' full-time teaching experience

  • Degree or equivalent required 

  • DELTA/ DipTESOL or equivalent MA qualification desirable 

  • Experience of teaching using Interactive Whiteboards and Digital Teaching Platform is preferred

  • Experience of teaching Exam Preparation for Trinity GESE is desirable

  • Experience of working with young learner

  • Be collaborative, have a passion for teaching and EFL

  • Have a working knowledge of safeguarding practices
