What are you doing this summer?


Gain or expand your teaching experience, teaching at one of our Study Holidays centres. You might have a relevant EFL qualification, or a PGCE or equivalent qualification in English, Primary or Modern Foreign Languages. You may be a newly qualified teacher, or a seasoned professional. We have a variety of contracts and locations to suit you, during summer 2024. 

What does it involve?


Here at Stafford House Study Holidays, we welcome over 6000 young students (aged 8-17) from all over the world, from late-June to mid-August. During their 7-14 day stay, we provide a vibrant activities and excursions programme, alongside stimulating English language lessons in the classroom. It's a great opportunity to work with a range of ages, levels of ability and students from a multi-cultural environment.

Our class sizes are small: 15 students on average

We support you: We provide your lesson materials to support our fun and varied syllabus. We also provide CPD, appraisals and observations, as well as an experienced and supportive academic management team. 


*Experienced Teaching staff completing a minimum of 4 weeks work during summer 2024 may be eligible to apply for free DELTA module 1 course, run by Stafford House International, London. *T&Cs apply.


Contracts:  You can choose your contract of 4-6 weeks between July to mid-August. You must be available throughout July. We may be able to support you with full-board accommodation if you’d like to try a residential contract. See below for more information.

Locations: Bournemouth, Canterbury, Cambridge, Central London, Uxbridge, Northampton, and Oakham (famous for the Michael Owen Red Stars football school) to choose from.

Hours: You can choose from 16-42 hour contracts, allowing you to find the perfect balance work/life over the summer holidays.


Some of what you need to become part of the Stafford House Teaching Team:


  • Teachers should have a first degree or equivalent and must be EFL/TESOL qualified (e.g. CELTA, CertTESOL or another TEFL certificate which meets Accreditation UK criteria), PGCEs in English, Modern Foreign Languages or Primary will also be considered.

  • DELTA/ DipTESOL or equivalent MA qualification desirable 

  • Experience of teaching using Interactive Whiteboards and Digital Teaching Platform is preferred

  • Experience of teaching Exam Preparation for Trinity GESE is desirable

  • Experience of working with young learner

  • Be collaborative, have a passion for teaching and EFL

  • Have a working knowledge of safeguarding practices

Contract options explained:


NON-RESIDENTIAL CONTRACTS:


Locations: Bournemouth, Canterbury, Cambridge, Central London (Bloomsbury), Uxbridge, Northampton, and Oakham (East Midlands).

Hours: 16-42 hours teaching per week (including CPD)


Pay and hours for Non-Residential Teachers:

- Teacher Non-residential (42 hours - 6 days per week) - £562.17 per week + holiday entitlement + (1+ years experience additional £5 per week) or (3+ years experience additional £15 per week)


Central London: (Monday to Friday)

- Teaching only - Central London, Bloomsbury (16 hours) - £288.75 per week + holiday entitlement + (1+ years experience additional £5 per week) or (3+ years experience additional £15 per week)

- Teacher - Central London, Bloomsbury (32 hours) - £519.75 per week + holiday entitlement + (1+ years experience additional £5 per week) or (3+ years experience additional £15 per week)


All other centres: (Monday to Friday)

- Teacher - 16 hours - £250.00 per week + holiday entitlement + (1+ years experience additional £5 per week) or (3+ years experience additional £15 per week)

- Teacher - 32 hours - £462.00 per week + holiday entitlement + (1+ years experience additional £5 per week) or (3+ years experience additional £15 per week)


RESIDENTIAL CONTRACTS:


Locations: Bournemouth, Canterbury, Cambridge, Uxbridge, Northampton, and Oakham (famous for the Michael Owen Red Stars football school).


Hours: 42 hours per week (made up of 15 or 30 hours teaching + teacher admin time, welfare of student time and/or leading excursions/activities)


Pay for Residential Teachers (42 hours per week): 

- Teacher - £519.75 per week + holiday entitlement

- Teacher + 1 year experience - £524.75 per week + holiday entitlement

- Teacher + 3 years+  experience  - £534.75 per week + holiday entitlement


*This includes full-board accommodation at the school.
