Do you have a background in summer schools, boarding schools, or universities, dealing with student accommodation and welfare?
Working in one of our 7 centres, as a Welfare & Accommodation Manager is a great opportunity to extend your management skills and hone your ability to work with students, within an exciting and varied role over the summer holidays.
Here at Stafford House Study Holidays, we welcome over 6000 students (aged 8-17) from overseas during the summer holidays, to help them improve their English. Students reside in one of seven fantastic schools for a duration of 7-14 days at a time. While with us, they are provided with a varied academic and activities programme and are supported by our team of Student Welfare Officers in each location, who help with all pastoral and well-being needs.
Our Welfare & Accommodation manager supports the Student Welfare Officers. Supported themselves by the Student Welfare Manager, Centre Director and a well-established head office team. As this is a residential contract, you’ll stay with us in your chosen school. Accommodation and food are provided for you, of course!
Locations: Bournemouth, Canterbury, Cambridge, Central London, Uxbridge, Northampton, and Oakham (famous for the Michael Owen Red Stars football school) to choose from.
Contracts: You can choose your contract of 4-6 weeks between late-June to mid-August. You must be available in July, as this is our busy period. As you are involved in the wrap-around care for our students, you must be residential for this contract.

Pay:
£686.40 per week + *holiday entitlement
Emergency Phone Payments – up to *£40 per week (£20 per night payments for emergency phone cover – anticipated twice per week)
Loyalty Payments (if applicable) - *£20 - 43 per week
*paid at the end of your contract
Previous residential experience, ideally within a school or educational setting
Proven successful experience in management and leadership
Experience of working with large groups, and/or young people would be of benefit
A very good working knowledge of Safeguarding procedures and policies
Be a great communicator, with a good level of spoken and written English
Able to attend our management training weekend is mandatory (in Canterbury, in June 2024)

Managing your team of Student Welfare Officers and Senior Student Welfare Officers. This involves setting weekly rotas to cover ‘lights-out’ and various other pastoral duties for our young students
Act as Designated Safeguarding Leader and managing all Health & Safety aspects of the programme
You’ll allocate accommodation, manage transfers and the supervision rota. Ensure that general housekeeping duties are met, while liaising with Group Leaders to provide a safe, fun, and smooth-running stay with Stafford House
Working up to 60 hours over 6 days per week – as part of the management team, this is a fully immersive position
