Working as a Summer School Activity Leader allows you to earn more than just money. You’ll gain the transferable skills that future employers are looking for. You’ll enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new challenges. We can even support you with accommodation in many of our schools.
Every year, from late June to mid-August, we welcome over 6000 young students (aged 8-17) from different parts of the world to one of our seven centres. Our aim is to provide them with a fun and educational holiday experience, which includes English language classes and engaging activities and excursions. And that's where you come in!
We look for enthusiastic and energetic professionals to join us as Activity Leaders, supporting our students on a wide range of activities and excursions. Activities range from sporting, drama, arts to quizzes, discos, fashion shows; the list goes on. Excursions involve leading groups to theme parks, city tours, historical sites etc and you are supported with the materials you need to make these activities/excursions exciting.
Locations: Bournemouth, Cambridge, Central London, Uxbridge, Northampton, and Oakham (famous for the Michael Owen Red Stars football school) to choose from.
Contracts: You can choose your contract of 2-6 weeks between late-June to mid-August. You must be available within at least 2 weeks in July, as this is our busy period. We can support you with board and accommodation if you’d like to stay in a school not local to you.
This is full time work, 48 hours per week over 6 days.
Accommodation + food included at a nominal cost if you choose to be residential (see below). Try a new location for the summer!

Pay: Basic rate of £549.12 per week (Minus £69.93 accommodation offset if you would like us to provide you with accommodation. This amount is set by the government) + holiday entitlement. Increments for coaching, first aid and lifesaving certificates available at selected centres.

Lots of confidence and enthusiasm. You don’t need to have specific qualification, be an expert in a particular activity or be a good sportsperson, but you must have an interest and the ability to lead the varied activities for groups of young people.
You must be professional, friendly and have a good understanding of how to support the well-being of young people.
Be flexible, adaptable, and able to think on your feet
Be a great communicator with a good level of spoken and written English
